After breakfast you will be picked up by your driver and headed towards Tangkahan at Gunung Leuser National Park. On the way visit the Maimum Palace which was built in 1888 for the Sultan of Deli. Then it goes to the “Mesjid Raya”, a large mosque that was built at the same time, before going to the Chinese temple “Vihara Gunung Timur”. Then a four-hour drive through the beautiful nature of North Sumatra towards Tangkahan in the Gunung Leuser National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Tangkahan was formerly known for illegal logging and hunting. Park rangers have been patrolling the area around Tangkahan with elephants to protect the jungle since 2001. From Tangkahan you can explore the jungle on a first hike.

After breakfast you can wash and bathe the elephants of the park rangers together with the mahout (elephant handler) in the nearby river. Afterwards, a jeep takes about 3 hours towards Bukit Lawang, on the other side of the national park, which is known for its orangutan rehabilitation programs.

This morning after breakfast, meet our representative. Today you’ll be driven to Kulonprogo (approx. 1 hour driving transfer) for a countryside cycling. The guide will take you to the village and you’ll meet and greet with the farmers and hands on to their daily works in the field and stop at local home industries i.e. tempeh makers, weaving, and also the locals daily activity. Cycling will end by the lunch at local house with traditional dishes. After lunch, you will be transferred to your hotel.

This morning in the pre-dawn hours, you’ll head out with your guide to be at famed Borobudur at sunrise. Not only is the mist and lighting at dawn serene, it is also a special time to explore this ancient site before masses of tourists arrive later in the day. Borobudur predates Angkor Wat by 300 years and Notre Dame by 200 years. “Discovered” in 1815, it has been excavated and returned to its original glory.

After breakfast, you will continue with a city tour of Yogyakarta. First you will visit the Taman Sari Water Castle. And then continue with a visit to the Beringharjo market in the center. The market is located near one of the city’s landmarks, Malioboro Street. One of the main streets of Yogyakarta which is filled with a small kiosk selling local handicrafts, authentic Javanese batik and delicious street food. A meeting place for local people as well as the city center. You are free to explore the road from start to finish.

This morning meet our representative in your hotel and transferred to the train station for your train to Mojokerto, East Java. The train is scheduled to arrive in Mojokerto around 10am. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to Bromo approx. 4 hours driving.

On the way, you will make a stop at the Madakaripura waterfall. The spectacular waterfall lies hidden at the end of a deep valley at the foot of the Tengger mountain range. You will arrive at your hotel in the evening. Check-in and take a rest.

Wake up early and enjoy the jeep ride to the vantage point of Mt. Penanjakan by the jeep and take short hiking into the platform as viewing point where you will see the incredible scene of Mt. Bromo in the foreground with Mt Semeru. You’ll see the layers of the foggy morning over the mountains. After sunrise time you still have time to amble around at the caldera rim of Bromo.

Breakfast at the hotel and then check out, you will be transferred to Sengkang, a small village located in the center of the former Bugis kingdom on Lake Tempe. In the afternoon, if you are lucky, you can admire the beautiful sunset views over Lake Tempe. We will take you across the lake in a motorized canoe and visit the fishing families who live in the floating villages. Dinner will be in a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Sengkang.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the traditional silk factory, where you can see the traditional spinning and weaving of silk by Buginese women. And then you will have time to go to the hills, where you can see the city of Sengkang from above. After breakfast in your hotel, a full day exploring Tana Toraja. First you will visit Lemo to see rows of Tau Tau statues and the hanging graves. Later continue to discover the secrets of baby trees in Kambira. Onwards to Londa with its ancient tombs in which the deceased was not buried, but placed among the rocks. Lunch break in a local restaurant in Rantepao. Onwards to Kete Kesu with a stop in Karuaya to enjoy the beautiful and typical Toraja panorama, From here we will continue with a short walk to Kete Kesu, one of the oldest Toraja villages. Here you still find two rows of the original village houses, the traditional ancestral houses of the Toraja people, Tongkonan, as well as traditional rice barns with colorful woodcarvings.

After breakfast in your hotel, we will bring you to visit Timonbayo where we can enjoy the spectacular view of the megalith stones spread over the extensive rice fields. Then to a burial cave of Lokomata. Today you will move to the mountain area of Bali. You will check out and meet your driver for the transfer to Munduk. On the way you will visit the Batukaru Temple Temple. You will continue to the Jatiluwih Rice Terrace, a UNESCO heritage site and a living museum showing the traditional farming methods of the island. You will arrive at your hotel, check-in and relax.

In the afternoon, our representative will pick you up to go to Ijen for “blue fire”. You will take the boat at night to Ketapang port. When you arrive there, you will be transferred to the starting point of the Jeep trek.

In the midnight, you will start to experience a memorable trekking to the Ijen Crater in East Java and see the Blue Fire. The top of the volcano at Kawah Ijen is the world’s largest body of water filled with hydrochloric acid. Within the 20km caldera complex lays an amazingly blue lake.

Early in the morning, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to Sambangan waterfall. After registering at the Sambangan Trekking Office, we will take you to Tiying Tali Dam. This journey starts at Tiying Tali Dam, which is a water division site for farmers in Sambangan village. Along the way, you will be refreshed by the beautiful scenery of the Muara rice terraces. After passing the rice field, you will enter the Sambangan forest. In this forest, you will discover hidden natural treasures. They are unique plantations (such as cloves, cocoa, palm sugar, coffee, fruit, etc.) and three incredible pristine waterfalls. Canging waterfall is the first waterfall you will find, then Dedari Waterfall and Cemara Waterfall, the highest waterfall in the village of Sambangan (about 33 meters high). Today, you will be picked up for a small village called Bakas, with 30-45 minutes drive from Ubud, where you can immerse yourself in the local social life and culture with the people of Bakas village. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed and guided for a trek on the rice field, and you will be able to interact with local farmers. When you stop at one point, the guide will show you how to collect the coconut from the tree, and you can taste the fresh coconut water. And then you will be taught how to make an offer called ‘canangsari’. You can join local children to play the Balinese Gamelan instrument.
